  Spanish by the river is a nice, low budget place to stay around this area. The manager is friendly and really helpful. The hostel is clean, has well equipped kitchen, (free tea and coffee!) garden with hammocks. Located around 5km from Boquete center. With the local bus is ~10 minutes and coast 0.60cent. Shop is on the corner, operating till 8pm.

  Bonjour a vous, un endroit formidable, très belle maison avec beaucoup d'espace, possibilité de planter la tente, des rencontre formidable avec des gens venues de partout dans le monde, ambiance plutôt familiales ça vous met dans le bain, personnel très agréable et plus que serviable, j'ai passer deux jours extraordinaire, excentrer de la ville, donc très calme et reposants, service de bus a deux minutes sur la voie principales ainsi que taxi ainsi très rapides d'aller en ville. Hotel excellent beaucoup mieux que leur concurents mamanella qui se trouve en centre ville. Merci au propriétaire de sa gentillesse et de son hospitalité, j'aurais de très bon souvenir graver dans ma mémoire grace au temps passer la bas et les gens rencontrer. a très vite j'espère

  We wanted to spend 2 nights in Spanish By The River and in the end we spent one week there. It's our favorite hostel so far. The community we had there we never had before we cooked with the whole hostel were looking movies together and had very nice conversations. Ricardo the manager cares a lot about those things and organisate everything for cooking, movies, popcorn..... the feeling was very familiar and we made friends. Many people wanted to stay shorter and decide to stay. This so far to the social part. The hostel has a very well equipped kitchen and coffee tee is for free the whole day. In the hostel are living as well some chicken and also those eggs are free.... fruit which are growing in the garden are also included bananas, lime, Orange, Patacones.... We slept in a tent and we had nothing to complain and this for 6$ per person. You can get warm showers and if you need something Ricardo gonna help you for sure. You have hammocks to chill and tables and benches to eat or play or what ever.... All in all if I would own a hostel it would be like Spanish By The River... We loved it and we miss the comfort and community we had. The Wi-Fi is not the best but it was nice because no one is sitting there the whole day with the phone!;) We can definitely recommend to come there. Thanks Ricardo for the nice time we had!!!:)

  Sin duda alguna es el mejor hostal en el que nos quedamos durante nuestro viaje por centro y Sudamérica. Decidimos quedarnos por una semana cuando solo íbamos por una noche. Ricardo el anfitrión hace que ese hostal sea especial. Le invierte mucha buena vibra y energía para que toda la gente en el hostal este unida para hacer actividades fuera o preparar cena para mas de 20 personas. Todos cooperando. De verdad que nunca habíamos visto eso en ningún hostal. Todos ven como negocio y nada mas que eso en este lugar nos sentimos como si fuéramos de fin de semana con nuestros mejores amigos. Suerte y que va a ser de los mejores hostales en todo el país.

  The owner Ricardo is an exceptional guy. They bring people together and make your stay very special. I made lots of friends thanks to him. The place is very clean and comfortable. Highly recommended.
