::Very nice to observe the transit of all ships and sail boats from one ocean to the other.

::Panama Canal. Fascinating how the locks work. We were in the old loc is, parallel to the new ones that can accommodate larger ships. Lots of wildlife

::It was outstanding to do a full transit of the canal. It was a great experience to see it. The original locks are still in operation as well as the new ones that were just completed. It's amazing how the locks were designed and operated. The locks raise or lower you 85 feet depending on which way your going. The trip is well worth it to see one of the best engineering feats in the world. The tall bridges over the canal are really amazing as well.

::It is the Panama Canal. This is a west coast to east coast full transit through the canal. They have locks and so do many other places. I have been through different locks and what sets these apart is the west coast basalt hill and the other volcanic deposits. Both the west coast and east coast have fantastic local arts.

::Be sure to check out the locks from both the bow (front) and the stern (rear) of your vessel. These locks have a mechanism that works entirely by gravity and it's really amazing to watch! We we're lucky enough to also have another ship entering next to us so we could see their progress as well. It was very cool! 🛳️
