  Hotel is being renovated to restore it to past glory. Views of the ocean and the ships waiting for the canal are breathtaking. The neighbourhood is quite run down. Definitely drive in and out. Colon itself is quite dilapidated which is a shame because there a lot of history there.

  Fundado en 1913 a un costo de 500.000 dólares, es un patrimonio histórico. Se ha remodelado un poco pero le falta un poco más.

  A very grand old hotel.......run down a bit but Colon is not in great shape right now.......especially the area it is located in.........give it a few years once all the work is complete and will be vibrant again.

  Not sure when the ad photos were taken, but I'm including some from Dec 2017. This used to be a grand hotel, but today, it, and the city of Colon are in ruins with trash piles the size of busses. Not sure what happened, but a lot of Colon reminds me of war torn places I've seen in the news. I don't have many photos of the inside because it was just too depressing. Glad I only stayed here one night. I think I might have been the ONLY guest that night. Would have liked to see it in it's prime, it must have been something wonderful at one time.
